To say that there are thousands of real estate books available today is probably an understatement, and it can be difficult separating the really best real estate investment books from those that are merely adequate. This should not be, by any means, considered to be an all-inclusive list for commercial real estate books. It’s simply some of the “best of the best,” real estate investing books and we will admit to a personal bias in some instances, so consider the following just a guideline when you’re looking for good real estate books.

You’ve probably heard that if you’re planning on investing in real estate, the key word is “planning.” Not everyone is going to get rich in the real estate business, and only “The Donald” is Donald Trump. Having said that, though, there’s no reason why you can’t make money investing in real estate, and this book – a terrific one among real estate investing books, gives you a good insight into the ins and outs, the dos and don’ts.
Investing in small, multi-family properties can be a great way to make money in the business of real estate investing. This isn’t a new real estate investment book – it was first published in 2006. The lending requirements have changed quite a bit since then, but the basic principles are still applicable, and we have no reservations recommending this commercial real estate investment book for first-time investors.
It’s a catchy title, and a great read, but don’t go into this thinking that you’re going to become a multi-millionaire overnight by reading this real estate book. If you’re looking for sound theory, though, this book among many other real estate investing books is worth reading. Again, this is an older book, and some of the information as in other commercial real estate books may not be applicable in this day and age, but it’s a great introduction to the “hybrid” model of real estate investing. The basic math doesn’t change – buy low, rent, and then sell and trade up. This book is still looked upon by buyers of real estate investment books.
If you want to move beyond single-family dwellings or small multi-family units, this is the book for you. It is one of a masterpiece in real estate investing books which focuses on large projects (think condos or apartment complexes). If you’re contemplating making real estate investing your full time occupation, and you want to build significant wealth, then go on reading real estate investment books like the one discussed here.
This is a sequel to the previous book. Commercial real estate books like this one goes into considerably more detail regarding buying, renting and selling apartment complexes and commercial properties. It also helps you get outside your comfort zone – if your own neighborhood is too pricey for you to invest in, McElroy can tell you what you need to know in order to look elsewhere. So, you can consider this as one of the good real estate investing books.
This book is targeted mainly towards intermediate-level investors, but has some good information for beginners as well. It’s heavier on theory than it is on practice, but it’s easy to read, so if you’re considering taking your real estate investing career to the next level, give this commercial real estate book a gaze.
If you’re moving up to the advanced level in real estate investing, you’ll definitely want to take a look at this real estate book. This book is the finest one among commercial real estate books. Finkel’s strategy is what’s known as the “lease option sandwich,” wherein investors acquire good properties in good locations and then sub-let them to tenant buyers. Finkel tells you how to find deals, and how to negotiate once you’ve found them.
Learn the pitfalls and the benefits of flipping houses from one who’s been there. Whether you’re new to flipping or you’ve been in it a while you’ll find useful strategies in this book. This book stands tall amidst all other real estate investment books.
